    Duties and responsibilities of this position include developing policies and procedures relative to the management of the department's GIS data; administering the GIS computing system and its integration with other database systems; collaborating on the management of GIS data storage, software updates, and equipment needs; designing webmaps and StoryMaps; providing geographic data and information related to the department's land inventory and assets; working with staff to create GIS solutions for existing issues; and maintaining a repository of commonly used data sources.

    Provide systems hardware and software configurations for the Directorate of Public Works, affecting GIS, CADD, real estate, and related engineering applications, file archiving, file management, and the transfer of electronic files over the local MCBH network to other parties involved in the design and construction process to facilitate in the accomplishment of the DPW Mission. 

    Provide installation GIS and CADD expertise and program management support services. Services include but are not limited to program management, mapping and analysis, database administration, data maintenance, consultation, and planning support to ensure MCB Hawaii obtains and maintains Geospatial data that adheres to USMC GEOFidelis / MCBH installation data standards and procedures in support of installation management of all activities.

    A GIS Technician-Records Curator position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position is responsible for providing GIS, record keeping and curation support to the US Army Garrison Hawaii (USAG-HI) Directorate of Public Works GIS file management database and intranet site.

    The GIS Technician-Records Curator will be responsible to manage the DPW’s drawing management system to include organization of as-built drawings, scanning drawings, inputting the scan files, examining each file to collect attribute data and inputting the drawing attributes into Bentley ProjectWise, document management software. Administration includes responding to requests for drawings/maps, maintenance of user access accounts, data input, troubleshooting software problems, and installation and configuration of software on servers and client workstations. The Technician will coordinate all pertinent IT requirements with the IT Supervisor to include share drive organization, backup and space allocations and support to assist with GIS data management.

    The position is located at Wheeler Army Airfield, Oahu, Hawaii.
