Using ArcGIS to tame the data flood of an offshore research cruise in real-time.

Presented by Greg Kurras

Marine Geologist & Geophysicist

Greg Kurras has over 20 years of combined industry and academic experience in the offshore industry, working in places as diverse as Saudi Arabia, Suriname, Alaska and the North Pole. He has extensive technical expertise in mapping near-shore, shallow water, and deep ocean environments using a variety of geophysical and hydrographic systems and processing packages. He has been extensively involved in offshore construction projects, telecommunication route investigations, deep-water AUV exploration, hydrographic surveys, and coastal investigations. He is well versed in geophysical data processing, geologic interpretation and geospatial data management.  In all of these facets of offshore survey work, ArcGIS has become an integral part of the real-time and post-processing workflow.
