Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) also known as Drones are big in the news these days. Is it just hype or are they going to become commercially viable in the near future?

See for yourself, and ask a group of experts on Monday October 28th. This is a special HIGICC event open only to a limited numbers of members. Sorry for the restriction on participants, but it requires a use permit from the City & County of Honolulu.

The main presenters are Chuck Devaney, a graduate student up at UH Manoa Geography Department and Iam Bouret, a commercial pilot. They are bringing several different aircrafts and camera systems. This is a chance to see it in action, examine the equipment first-hand, and ask questions from people who have experience working in this new field of remote sensing.

This is an outdoor event, you need sun protection.

 Rain will end activities.
