What: City & County of Honolulu's Parcel & Zoning Information Mapping Web site-  A joint presentation by the Jon Hodge/GIS Analyst of the City and County of Honolulu – Department of Planning and Permitting and John Higuchi, PMP/Project Manager with BEI Hawaii. 

 

The presentation will inform the local GIS community on the recent deployment of the City’s new GIS website (http://honoluludpp.org/gis) based upon ESRI ArcGIS version 9.2.  GIS professionals and the GIS community will hear how they can use it for accessing City’s geospatial data, the advancements of the City’s GIS capabilities and how it was developed to meet federal standards for sharing information between City and Federal agencies.

 

Who: Jon Hodge (City’s Dept. of Planning & Permitting) and John Higuchi (BEI Hawaii)

 

Jon Hodge, GIS Analyst -Mr. Hodge has worked for the City and County of Honolulu Planning and Permitting Department for 15 years.  As the lead GIS analyst and SDE database administrator for the City,  Mr. Hodge has extensive experience in designing and administering geodatabases on an ArSDE/Oracle platform as well as monitoring, maintaining  and managing the technical aspects of the overall enterprise gis.  Some of his accomplishments have included development of the Cityview ArcGIS application and training program, managing the Plat Map Automation Program (PMAP) and his latest project which is the focus of this presentation:  managing the migration and enhancement of the public GIS website.

 

John Higuchi, PMP, Project Manager - Mr. Higuchi is with BEI Hawaii as consultant and project manager as well as a Board of Director with the Project Management Institute Honolulu Chapter.  BEI Consulting is a Hawaii-based group of experience management and information technology professionals.  John’s specialty includes project management and technology consulting and has worked for a Federal agency in the field of telemedicine and most recently with the City in the Department of Information Technology as Gordon Bruce’s project manager overseeing the City-wide projects such as the ERP selection process and telecommunication leases.  http://www.beiconsultants.com

How Much:  HIGICC Members - $12; Non Members - $17.  You can register here online. Manual payments are Cash or check at the door.  All registered attendees are responsible for paying, even if you don't show up. We've got to buy the lunches, right?! 

 

Box lunches will be ordered through Paradise Café.  Choices are Turkey/Bacon/Avocado, Vegetarian, Ham&Cheese or BLT.  You can make your selection when you register.
