    The Dudek Hawaii office located in Kailua on the windward side of Oahu is currently looking to hire a full time or part time UAS pilot to join our growing team here in Hawaii. The candidate will need to be Part 107 certified and have UAV flight experience. Ideally the candidate will have DJI platform specific flight experience.     Supervises and/or performs the research, analyses, and design of thematic maps and applications and the design and maintenance of Geographic Information System (GIS) database including the coordination of interdepartmental GIS related matters; and performs other related duties as required.

    • Supervises and manages data entry projects to produce thematic maps and reports using a GIS.
    • Supervises and manages the design of the thematic map data and applications using GIS software.
    • Coordinates meetings with departmental representatives to determine their needs and to develop GIS goals.
    • Researches, analyzes, and designs GIS projects; develops, tests, and implements GIS systems and applications.
    • Coordinates the exchange of data between various GIS systems among County departments, other government agencies, and private organizations.
    • Determines appropriate security systems.
    • Manages aerial photograph and remote sensing projects.
    • Analyzes and interprets all types of media, photographs, and other maps to delineate elevations, land use, and geographic boundaries; investigates and verifies geographic and land use data by making physical inspections.
    • Designs and develops programs to produce custom thematic map data and reports.
    • Develops workflow systems to ensure efficient and timely updating.
    • Manages datum and projections to ensure proper overlay of data sets; converts projections as necessary.
    • Develops metadata format.
    • Develops and recommends short term and long range GIS plans.
    • Determines budgetary needs; participates in the preparation of the GIS systems budget.
    • Directs, supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of assigned subordinates; instructs subordinates and provides advice on methodology.
    • Manages, supports, and troubleshoots GIS systems; provides advice and assistance on GIS systems matters.
    • Develops training materials and programs; conducts GIS training.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Job Description: Perform geospatial and non-geospatial tasks as a GIS Technician working with a GIS Analyst and other GIS technicians in a team setting. GIS projects will include development of GIS layers, loading and editing GIS data, performing basic mapping and metadata authoring. Field work at various locations will also be required using a Trimble mapping grade GPS. The data and photos gathered will be integrated into various products in support of GIS development. Will develop geospatial products and provide consolidated database and custom reports. Complete assigned tasks using GIS software packages and other database software and other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Minimum 1 year experience using ArcGIS products.  The ideal candidate will be a team player, good listener, quick learner, and motivated to learn.

    Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office.  Other geospatial software used in this office includes SDSFIE tools, ERDAS Imagine, Trimble GPS software, and Adobe Photoshop.

    GIS experience is the most important factor.  Will consider education and potential to learn.  Must provide references.

    Must have good communications and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, to interface with managers, engineers, scientists and other personnel.

    General Description:

    Full time GIS (ESRI ArcGIS) support to Marine Corps Base Hawaii Logistics, Planning and Facilities Dept.

    Location:  

    Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay – Oahu, HI

    Primary Responsibilities:

    - Create, maintain and QA/QC data in Versioned Enterprise Geodatabase (Oracle).

    - Translate CAD, GPS, Engineering Designs, Technical Drawings accurately into GIS.

    - Georeference digital (AutoCAD) and scanned engineering/technical drawings.

    - Collect and Post-Process Mapping Grade GPS data (Trimble).

    - Interpret Engineering/Technical Plan Drawings and As-Builts.

    - Create print and digital map products with attention to design principles and cartographic standards.

    - Work with end-users to determine GIS needs.

    - Deliver data sets & metadata to end-users.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    - Experience with image processing and raster analysis.

    - Experience with project management and training and providing technical direction to less experienced personnel.

    - Detail oriented with an eye towards quality.

    - Experience with GIS data and CAD data integration.

    - Experience developing and working with relational and spatial databases.

    - Shall be able to perform fieldwork in tropical environments and travel via military transportation.
