We have new opening for a GIS Tech II.

Job Description: Perform geospatial and non-geospatial tasks as a GIS Technician working with a GIS Analyst and other GIS technicians in a team setting. GIS projects will include development of GIS layers, loading and editing GIS data, performing basic mapping and metadata authoring. Field work at various locations will also be required using a Trimble survey grade and mapping grade GPS. The data and photos gathered will be integrated into various products in support of GIS development. Will develop geospatial products and provide consolidated database and custom reports. Complete assigned tasks using GIS software packages and other database software and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 year experience using ArcGIS products.  The ideal candidate will be a team player, good listener, quick learner, and motivated to learn.

Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office.  Other geospatial software used in this office includes SDSFIE tools, ERDAS Imagine, Trimble GPS software, and Adobe Photoshop.

Competent with the use of ArcGIS and ESRI mapping products . Must also be proficient in SDSFIE and be able to use a Trimble Mapping Grade GPS to collect and process field data. Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation CAD products; Familiarity with Leica’s ERDAS Imagine software; Experience using the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, & Environment (SDSFIE); Experience authoring Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) compliant metadata; Experience writing provisions, specifications, and estimates for surveying, photogrammetry, LiDAR, and/or GIS scopes of work; Familiarity with developing GIS web-enabled solutions using ArcGIS Server; Familiarity with Oracle and relational database design; Willingness to work in an interoperable CADD/GIS environment where both software and storage formats are put to use in dual platforms.

GIS experience is the most important factor and must provide references.

Must have good communications and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, to interface with managers, engineers, scientists and other personnel.

Immediate opening in Honolulu - this is a multiple year government contract.
