Job Detail:

Summary:

Assist a DoD client with improving and maintaining GIS data for military installations. Provide specialized technical and analytical geospatial assistance that will support the maintenance of installation datasets. Support data collection, SDSFIE standards integration, and quality verification processes. Maintain geospatial data in an enterprise GIS implementation, aid in the maintenance of the geodatabase, and apply technical and programmatic knowledge of GIS. Execute the responsibilities of a GIS Analyst supporting Installation Management functions as a part of a DoD Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) Program, which include:

 GIS technical proficiency and experience with Esri ArcGIS.

 Experience working in an enterprise Esri ArcGIS environment.

 Data preparation, management, and maintenance

 Script writing for automation of routine GIS tasks and procedures.

 Data Model support and compliance.

 Communicate standards, methods, quality assurance/control processes, and metrics.

Requirements and Experience:

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the potential candidate:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, or IT related field

 5 years of experience with Esri ArcGIS Desktop and Server applications

 Current US DoD Secret Clearance

 Python script writing experience

 Data management experience

 GPS experience

 Experience in SDSFIE

 Excellent writing and communication skills

 Knowledge of DoD and Federal GIS Standards and Policy

 Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems

 Experience in DoD Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) or other DoD installation functional areas
