University of Hawaii Maui College. Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawaii Maui College (UHMC), for the Rural Hawaii 1 (RH1) Project, located in Kahului, Maui, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
Minimum Monthly Salary: $2,459/Mon.
Duties: Provides technical support in the delivery of the RH1 Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Project on the islands of Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii via distance learning. Assists in liaising with the GIS industry, developing job and employment opportunities for the project’s participants. Assists in delivering the UHMC GIS Certificate Program training courses. Assists in the evaluation of curriculum and in the development of assessment tools and strategies for course and student development.
primary Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Information Technology, Surveying, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field. Experience: At least one (1) year of relevant GIS experience. Abil/Know/Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess strong computer software skills with professional software programs commonly used in GIS. Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal insured vehicle. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check.
SECONDARY Qualifications: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Surveying, Geography, Geomatics or a related field. One to three (1-3) years of experience in working on a federal grant project in a position of responsibility. Knowledge of UH administrative procedures.
