The role – GIS Analyst:
Essential Duties (Major Responsibilities/Activities):
- · Maintain and manage company-wide GIS ecosystem.
- · Provide GIS technical support to G70 staff and projects.
- · Maintain company-wide cartographic/GIS standards.
- · Design or prepare graphic representations of GIS data, using GIS hardware or software applications.
- · Convert data collected from field operations into GIS database with proper and accurate spatial location.
- · Interpret aerial photography or imagery.
- · Analyze GIS data to identify spatial relationships and/or display results of analyses, using maps, graphs, or tabular data.
- · Enter data into GIS G70 databases, using techniques such as coordinate geometry, keyboard entry of tabular data, manual digitizing of maps, scanning or automatic conversion to vectors, or conversion of other sources of digital data.
- · Maintain or modify existing GIS databases.
- · Collaborate with IT in managing GIS server, software, updates, etc. as part of managing and maintain GIS ecosystem.
- · Maintain repository of and keep up to date on commonly used data sources (e.g. County Zoning, Parcels, etc.) from various sources.
- · Organize information and give presentations in house or to clients.
- · Write proposals, scope of work, and manage GIS-based projects as needed.
- · Contribute to creating, improving, and developing GIS project strategies and services for clients as needed Non-Essential Duties

- · Involvement in professional organizations and/or community groups.
- · Participation in staff meetings, office events, and office committees
Minimum Qualification Requirements: To perform successfully in this position, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties above in a satisfactory manner. - Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Natural Resources, or a related field or equivalent with 4 or more years of GIS work experience preferred. Associates degree with 6 or more years of work experience may be considered.
- Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification preferred. Computer/Technical Skills
- Must have solid skillset with ESRI software suite (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, StoryMap, Web App Builder, Model Builder), Fieldmap, Survey123, etc.) for cartographic production work, 2D/3D spatial analyses, and web mapping.
- Experience with using GPS for data collection and supporting staff in field work
- Experience with data interoperability in particular working with CAD/BIM data formats would be a plus.
- Experience with opensource GIS (QGIS) is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products including, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Other Skills
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to interpret spatial and nonspatial data and create graphic visualizations of the data.
- Solid understanding of GIS principles and practices and proven ability to troubleshoot and understand the applications of GIS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Experience training others in use of GIS is a plus
- Experience with architectural, construction and/or engineering firms preferred; experience in other professional services sectors will be considered.
- Ability to explain technical GIS information to non- technical clients and team members.
- Background with cartographic design principals is a plus.
- Majority of time will be spent seated at a computer; however, some intermittent walking, standing and use of stairs may also be required.
